A few notes on the accessibility decisions baked into the site.

Shape and color, not color alone

Each category has its own symbol: a dot for Quiet, a wave for Active, an outline heart for Intense, an open circle for Tender. The categories stay distinguishable even when color isn't enough, such as under color-vision differences or in grayscale.

Content notes, not warnings

Practices that may surface deeper feeling or body memory carry a plain-language content note describing what to expect. The word "trigger" is avoided in favor of specific descriptions.

Reduced-motion support

If your operating system has reduced-motion turned on, the breathing circle and other animations stop automatically. You don't need to set anything on this site. The setting lives in your OS accessibility settings:

• macOS: System Settings → Accessibility → Display → Reduce motion
• iOS: Settings → Accessibility → Motion → Reduce Motion
• Windows: Settings → Accessibility → Visual effects → Animation effects
• Android: Settings → Accessibility → Remove animations (varies by device)

Typography for readability

The body face is Atkinson Hyperlegible, designed by the Braille Institute specifically for low-vision readability. Both fonts are self-hosted on this site rather than loaded from a third-party CDN.

Touch and keyboard

Touch targets are sized for easy tapping. A skip link at the top of every page lets keyboard users jump past the navigation. Focus outlines are visible on every interactive element.

Palette

The palette is tuned for legibility on a single deep-teal canvas, so the site holds up in both bright and dim viewing conditions without needing a light/dark toggle.
